Kasiru grew up in Tamale with both parents and after completing a bachelor’s degree in Philosophy and English from the University of Cape Coast, he taught communication skills at the Tamale Polytechnic as part of the one year mandatory national service programme in Ghana.

Kasiru joined Songtaba in 2012 as a programme assistant. Now the Head of programmes and policy at Songtaba he holds a Masters degree in NGO Management and Rural development from the University for Development Studies and a certificate in Project Management from Cambridge Center of Excellence, PMI authorized training partner. When he is not behind his computer developing new concepts and programme Insights to improve Songtaba’s development work, then you will find him charting with friends. His passion for development work dates back at his High school days when he was an active member and later the organizing secretary of the Africa Youth peace Call (AYPC).

The Africa Youth peace Call (AYPC) is was a network of Ghanaian youth engaged in activities that was geared towards youth development as well as bringing peace in our communities in the northern region, especially during the time when the region was characterize by pockets of communal violence.
