What We Do

What We Do

Four thematic areas driving sustainable and inclusive development

Songtaba works across four thematic areas that respond to the unique needs of underserved populations. These areas are grounded in research, community feedback and long term partnerships that ensure our interventions are locally relevant and impactful.

What We Do

Justice and Active Citizenship

Songtaba supports communities to understand their rights, participate in decision making and hold duty bearers accountable. This includes legal literacy, civic participation, advocacy training and the strengthening of accountability mechanisms.
The thematic area also supports women and girls in camp settlements, promotes transparent governance and mobilises communities around philanthropy initiatives such as the Faako Fund.

What We Do

Quality and Inclusive Education

Education is a powerful tool for breaking cycles of poverty. Songtaba promotes equitable access to education through girls clubs, sponsorship support, advocacy for the Ghana Education Service re entry policy and community sensitisation.
Our work helps reduce school dropout rates, supports adolescent girls and promotes positive learning outcomes.

What We Do

Integrated Health and WASH

Songtaba improves access to reproductive health information, mental health awareness and maternal and child health services. Activities include family planning dialogues, menstrual hygiene education, adolescent health outreaches and WASH sensitisation in communities with high water scarcity and unsafe water usage.

What We Do

Climate Resilient Communities and Decent Work

Songtaba strengthens climate resilience through livelihood training, VSLAs, sustainable agriculture practices and women’s access to productive resources.
We also work to reduce unpaid care work, improve working conditions in the informal sector and promote decent work practices that prevent exploitation and modern slavery.
